Pastor Lucky was born in San Francisco, California. His father is from American Samoa and his mother comes from the Filipino decent. At the age of 7, Lucky’s father relocated his family to American Samoa, where Lucky was raised. As a young child and throughout his adolescence, Lucky always enjoyed music and singing. His mother enjoyed listening to him sing each time and knew that Lucky had a gift in his voice. She was his biggest fan and always encouraged him to use his voice and shared that people would listen. Both of his parents were engulfed in church and raised Lucky in the congregation christion faith where Lucky also attended a private, Catholic school. Both of his parents were Deacons of the church and raised Lucky knowing the Lord.
Lucky joined the military 1995 and retired 2015. During his years of service, he witnessed many life altering moments. Each time, he talked to God, knowing that God was listening and praying for answers to all his questions. Lucky found himself talking to the Lord, having casual conversations, asking for guidance, daily. In spite of religious aspects, Lucky knew and felt that God was listening and guiding his path, regardless.
In 2015, Lucky retired with an honorable discharge. Lucky’s brother-in-law, Bam, continued to share the word with Lucky and inspired him to walk with the Lord, to know him, to have a relationship with him. After years of fellowship with Pastor Bam Lauvao, Lucky started to feel his relationship grow stronger with the Lord. He wanted to walk closer with him and was eager to hear his voice. Bam presented Lucky with an opportunity to serve at a non-denominational Christian church, as a worship vocal coach. While serving as a worship vocal coach, Lucky’s demeanor and outlook on life started to change, dramatically. Family and friends made comments on how Lucky was glowing with the Lord. Lucky shared that each time he sang, worshiping the Lord, he felt the Holy Spirit take residence in his heart. He then vowed to continue his calling with the Lord guiding his every step.
While serving in worship, Lucky was presented with more opportunities to support the church. Lucky started serving as the Head Director of the church. Lucky continued to serve through worship and providing support in leading ministries as the Head Director. Another church, later, reached out to ask for Lucky’s service in building another church and supporting the Children’s ministry there. Lucky was not reluctant in any way and immediately departed to support another church.
Lucky successfully assisted another church in building their ministries by reaching out to the community and serving in every capacity. Throughout all the various opportunities that transpired, Lucky continued to worship for the Lord consistently and without faltering. Lucky holds onto his mother’s words and teachings, daily, and recalling them helps Lucky persevere. One day, Lucky heard God talk to him, telling him he’s ready, to start a church, to open up a new “home,” for his children, where people will come back to know him, to restore relationships, to walk in the Christian faith, knowing the Lord, having communion with him. Without a shadow of a doubt, Lucky knew what he was instructed to do and had confirmation on his calling. Without any hesitation, with no “man-made plan,” and with all humbleness, Lucky listened.
Pastor Lucky is well known in every community he became a part of. Because of his humor, his gifted voice to worship, and his giving heart, he was able to make a mark in every community he resided in. His mission and vision is to “make Disciples of all nations,” to have a “home,” a church where people can freely be themselves and come just as they are. Pastor Lucky’s vision is to create and maintain a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural church for all God’s children, where you will feel loved, welcomed, renewed, have a sense of belonging, knowing that our church family will support you in every capacity possible, where doors will stay open just for you. He doesn’t believe in creating barriers and lives daily showcasing such. Pastor Lucky has made himself accessible for his congregation and others in the community, without any barriers or hindrances. He strongly believes that Jesus Christ in the only answer and hope for this dying world and has dedicated his life to continue to spread the good news of the Lord
